Hey everyone. My name is Jessica May Walker. I am a 27-year-old newlywed, who also took on the title of 'cancer caregiver' this past October. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 Esophageal Carcinoma on our 53rd day of marriage. Our world was rocked, but four months later we are so much closer to beating this thing.
Our newlywed story looks a little different from most. If you made your way to this blog, it's possible yours does too. Different is not bad. Different can be powerful, strengthening, binding, and illuminating (albeit frustrating, confusing, and often, tough).
I created BETTER out of the swirl of chaos that was our cancer diagnosis. I wanted to create something that could make life a little easier on patients, as well as their care givers. Because, let's face it, you have enough on your plate.
I want THE BETTER BLOG to be a place of learning, healing, and hopefulness. I may be young, but I've picked up quite a few tips along this journey that I would love to share to lighten your load.
Better is not an impossible place, it doesn't even have to be a far off one. Let's talk, share, and fight together to make life impacting illnesses a whole lot easier.
Love and Better,
